Gyroklystron: Theory and Experiment

Comparison of results of calculations on "Gyro-K" code and experimental given was conducted on the base of following experimental model Gyroklystron (Institute applied physicists, Russian, Nigny Novgorod).

  2. Ceramic insulator,
  3. Modulating cylindrical cavity with working type of waves H011,
  4. Input waveguide,
  5. Link window,
  6. Ålectromagnet,
  7. Intermediate cavity,
  8. Output waveguide with internal irregularity,
  9. Spiraling electron beam,
  10. Collector,
  11. Output ceramic window.

Beam voltage V=16kV and current  I=3A, velocity ratio q=2.3, normalised radius of leading electronic orbit centre r=1.54 radian, working frequency 10GHz. Velocity spread of electron beam is shown on following drawing:

On following drawing it was shown the experimental and modelling  values of efficiency for different values of relative working frequency

Brought data point to the good coincidence of experiment and theory. Divergence of efficiency does not exceed at the average 5%.
